Selena Gomez Opens Up About Dating Scene: 'Boys Confuse Standards With High Maintenance' - Yahoo Entertainment

If you’ve always dreamed of being in a relationship with Selena Gomez, listen up because she’s dishing out her requirements.

During an appearance on SiriusXM’s “Hits 1 LA,” the pop star dove into her thoughts on the mindset of the opposite sex in the dating pool.

“I think I have standards, and I think I live in a world right now where boys confuse standards with high maintenance,” Gomez, 31, explained.

Nodding to the lyrics from her new tune “Single Soon,” where she talks about being “high maintenance,” she continued, “The line was really fun because I’m not ashamed to say, “‘I actually require X, Y and Z for you to be with me.’”

Gomez added: “So in a way, it was just meant to be for the attitude of the song, and that’s genuinely what I feel.”

The “Come and Get It” crooner then laid out the requirements to date her to the radio show’s hosts Tony Fly and Symon.

“You gotta be cool, man,” Gomez shared of what it takes to tie her down. “Not cool in the sense that people think you’re cool. You just gotta be nice and like, please make me laugh, and also just be good to my family and people around you.”

The “Only Murders in the Building” star got candid about how she’s not rushing to meet her future beau, but is willing to embrace a new relationship if it happens to come her way.

“I think everybody goes through the phase of, ‘Oh, it’d be nice to like have someone,’ and I get that. But you know, I’m just enjoying where I’m at, and I just want to be happy with who I am so that whenever that person comes into my life, I can just have them add on to me instead of being this insecure, you know, person that I normally used to be,” Gomez said.

Back in June, the former Disney star, who famously dated Justin Bieber, The Weeknd and Nick Jonas, went viral after hilariously shouting “I’m single” while watching a soccer game with friends.

In a TikTok video shared by Gomez on June 8, she was seen screaming to the athletes, “I’m single. I’m just a little high maintenance. But I’ll love you soooo much.”

The actor captioned the video: “The struggle man lol.”

Fans who resonated with Gomez’s message swooped into the comments section under the video to show support.

“Im just like her...” one fan wrote.

Another agreed with the star’s words calling them “so real.”

“‘i’m just a little high maintenance’” as you SHOULD be selena!!! 💕😩,” a separate TikTok user added.

4 people, including two children found dead - CNN

CNN  — 

Two adults and two children were found dead at a “scene of violence” involving a fire at a house in Seattle, Washington, on Saturday, authorities said.

At 8:41 a.m., the Seattle Police Department received a call from an 11-year-old girl who said there was a deceased person inside her house on 48th Street and Whitman Avenue, Police Chief Adrian Diaz said.

Officers arrived at the scene within five minutes to find the front door barricaded and a fire burning inside the house, Diaz said. Seattle Fire Department officers were then called to assist.

Seattle Fire Chief Harold Scoggins said his units were dispatched to the fire “as well as a scene of violence.”

The majority of the fire was at the front of the building and within 45 minutes the fire had been knocked down, Scoggins said. Fire units were then able to search the building.

Inside the house, the fire units found one dead person at the front and one dead person at the rear of the building, along with an infant and a child who were also deceased, Scoggins said.

A dog was also found dead inside the house, Scoggins said.

The 11-year-old girl was able to escape the building through a window and called police from a neighbor’s house, Diaz said. He said authorities are working to reunite her with other family members.

The names and ages of those who died have not been released. The cause of the deaths is still being determined by medical examiners, Diaz said. Police said they know who lived at the house, but they are working to determine whether they were the same people who died.

The cause of the fire has not been determined, but arson investigators are on the scene, Scoggins said.

Meg Ryan revealed that her children are mortified by her famous fake orgasm scene from her classic 1989 romantic comedy "When Harry Met Sally."

In the scene, Ryan's character Sally loudly demonstrates how women can fake reaching sexual climax in front of Billy Crystal's Harry and all the other patrons at New York City's Katz's Deli.

During a conversation with Carol Burnett for Interview magazine, the 61-year-old actress, who is set to make her return to the big screen for the first time in eight years, shared how her son Jack Quaid, 31, and daughter Daisy Ryan, 19, really feel about the iconic movie moment.

"It's funny, my son just called me this morning and he’s in New York staying at a hotel that’s right across the street from Katz’s Deli. My daughter was here and everybody was on speaker, and they were like, ‘Mom, this is a very unique embarrassment,’" Ryan told Burnett, 90, with a laugh.

She continued, "He said, ‘You know you can go into that deli and there’s an arrow pointing down to the table where you shot that scene.’"

"Oh God," the comedy icon responded.

"I wonder if it's the right one," Ryan added.

Ryan shares Jack with her ex-husband Dennis Quaid, 69, and she adopted Daisy in 2006.

The Connecticut native went on to recall that the cast and crew filmed the fake orgasm scene "over and over and over again." 

During a 2019 "When Harry Met Sally" reunion panel with Ryan, Crystal and director Rob Reiner, Reiner explained that the scene required multiple takes and said he stepped in for Ryan at one point to show her how he wanted the moment to play out.

"The first couple of times, it was like, 'I need it more, I need it more.' And then it was 'Let me show you.' So I sat across from Billy," Reiner remembered.

"He had an orgasm Mighty Joe Young would have been proud of," Crystal joked.

Crystal also recalled how many times Ryan had to act the scene out to get it right. "On the other side of her, I ate 27 pastrami sandwiches," the six-time Emmy Award winner said. "For any Jew, that's a lot."

"When Harry Met Sally" became a box office hit and remains an enduring comedy classic. The part of Sally marked Ryan's first leading role in a movie and she earned a Golden Globe nomination for her performance.

Ryan went on to become the queen of 90s rom-coms, starring in a number of the genre's most popular films including "Sleepless in Seattle" and "You've Got Mail."

Following an eight-year hiatus from acting, Ryan will next be seen in the upcoming movie "What Happens Later," which also stars David Duchovny. The film also marks Ryan's first romanic comedy role in 15 years.

In addition to starring in "What Happens Now," Ryan also directed the film and co-wrote the screenplay with Steven Dietz and Kirk Lynn. In 2015, the actress made her directorial debut with the drama "Ithaca," in which she also starred alongside her son Jack.

"Truly, the easiest part was acting in it," Ryan told Burnett during their Interview conversation.

She continued, "I want to direct again just so I can sit in the chair, because I’m sure there’s a lot of things I missed. I hadn’t done a role in a really long time, but it was fun with David."

"A lot of it was done in two shots. I’m proud of that. I set up everything beforehand so that once we were there, it was just David and I trying to tell the truth."

In the movie, Ryan and Duchovny play ex-lovers who reunite decades after their split when they are stranded at an airport during a snowstorm.

Ryan explained that she began working on the screenplay while quarantining during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"They sent me the script— which was a first or second draft by the playwright [Dietz]—based on a play called 'Shooting Star,'" Ryan recalled.

She continued, "I had just moved to California at the beginning of the pandemic and it was this big collective pause, so that script got me thinking about what was happening in the world, how we were all kind of put under a glass." 

"I started working on it and over the course of a year and a half, the script evolved and David came on. We got to know each other over these Zoom calls and some of those conversations found their way into the script, too."

"What Happens Later" will be released in theaters on Oct. 13.

It left everyone surprised as the audience was least expecting it. Dharmendra had reacted to it during the success event of 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani'.
The actor had said, "I did get messages about the kissing scene. And, when I was told that there was going to be such a scene, I said 'Captain mazboot ho toh team accha khelti hai. Ye toh mere daayein haath ka khel hai. Jab mujhe mauka milta hai, main chakka maarta hoon."
Now in a recent interview, Esha Deol has reacted to her father's kiss. She said in a chat with Zoom, that Dharmendra is very romantic by nature. He is the coolest, he will do shayari and everything. Moroever, there's no barrier or age for love or kissing. Esha said Dharmendra has always been such a romantic.
Esha further praised the other actors in the movie and said, Shabana ji is fantastic! Esha revealed, 'I have a huge soft corner for Jaya aunty'. The actress added that moreover, it was shot beautifully and these are all such professional actors. However, some portions weren't watchable for her because she is his daughter and there were some very emotional scenes. But she wanted to watch the film.
Esha had said to ETimes exclusively that, "It was very difficult for me as a daughter to sit through certain scenes that my dad was performing. But, I mean, I love him too much and as an audience also, I admire him. So, I had to just sit and tell myself not to be the daughter while watching it. Watch it as an audience. He is someone who is still working hard and giving his best even at this age. Do you feel that most of the young actors today have had it easy somewhere as compared to actors before them? I think that time the charm was so different and they were the real stars. They were not easily approachable or reachable. People used to wait to see a glimpse of them. That's why they are still legends and stars. That weight is still there in them. Of course, social media has its plus points because we are able to reach our fans and communicate with them and we read their messages and they communicate to us, which is great.
She had further praised Ranveer Singh and said, "However, I feel any actor from this generation, like Ranveer Singh, would answer it more accurately. I think they all are working very hard every day. Ranveer does something different, something commendable in every film. I'm always rooting for him because I have known him before he became an actor also and he's an example."
On work front, Esha's short film 'Ek Duaa' recently won an award at the 69th National Film Awards. It got the Special Jury Award.
