BELTON, Texas (KWTX) An investigation was underway Wednesday after an 18-wheeler sideswiped a Department of Public Safety cruiser at an accident scene on southbound Interstate 35 in Belton.
The trooper was at the scene of an accident in which another 18-wheeler had jackknifed on the highway early Wednesday and his marked unit with lights activated was blocking the outside lane to divert motorists around the crash scene.
He was in the unit when another 18-wheeler sideswiped the vehicle.
Neither the trooper nor the truck driver was injured.
On Jan. 4, a vehicle slammed into the back of another DPS trooper's SUV while he was working a two-vehicle accident along Highway 6.
The trooper was outside his vehicle when a white Dodge Charger rear-ended the patrol unit.
The driver and three passengers in the Dodge were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
