ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - KALB is getting numerous questions from viewers about a myriad of law enforcement working a scene at Elliott Street on North MacArthur Drive in Alexandria.

According to the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office, officers from RPSO, Alexandria Police, the FBI, and the ATF, along with Acadian Ambulance, are at the scene.
We have been told it is an active scene, but that there is no immediate threat to the public, and that precautionary action is being taken. Investigators are on the scene, and RPSO is working the perimeter.
We reached out to APD for information, but we were directed to the City of Alexandria officials instead. Special Projects Coordinator Jim Smilie sent us a statement that said, "As this is an ongoing investigation, we are unable to provide further comment at this time. Anyone with information is requested to contact the FBI at 504-816-3000 or via email to Tips.FBI.gov."
Smilie also released this statement from the FBI: "We can confirm that FBI agents, in coordination with federal, state, and local partners were conducting court-authorized law enforcement activity on MacArthur Dr. in Alexandria, LA., however, we cannot provide further comment on the nature of the activity or investigation at this time."
This comes after an incident last week in Alexandria in which an explosion took place outside of the former Buds and Suds last Thursday. The FBI and ATF took the lead in that investigation. On Saturday, federal agencies were also at an “active” scene on Jackson Street in a field adjacent to the Texaco gas station.
