SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Police have fenced off the front of a building on Syracuse’s North Side.
Yellow crime tape is blocking off the sidewalk outside of 202 E. Belden Ave. at the corner of East Belden Avenue and Pearl Street. An assault was reported at an apartment inside the building at 12:04 a.m., Onondaga County 911 dispatch logs show.
The incident was initially reported as a fight with a weapon, according to police scanner dispatches.
A Syracuse Police Department spokesman could not immediately be reached for comment.
The department Crime Scene Unit van and multiple marked patrol vehicles are parked on the street outside of the East Belden Avenue building.
