ROCKFORD, Ill (WIFR) -- The Rockford Fire Department is on scene at a house fire at 2600 Highcrest Road. They responded at approximately 2:40 p.m. Sunday.
Early reports say flames were visible through the roof. As of 3:10 p.m. the department had the flames under control, and asked neighbors if they knew the occupants of the home.
Upon arrival crews found heavy smoke and fire conditions at the structure.
