UPDATE: ROCKFORD (WREX) — Authorities say no one was inside a home that was destroyed by a fire Monday morning in Rockford.
It happened in the 1300 block of N. Springfield Ave. around 5:20 a.m.
First crews on scene say heavy flames were showing from the house.
According to the Rockford Fire Department, the home was empty. No injuries were reported and the home was considered a complete loss.
The State Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the fire.
