
SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio -- OVI: Lee Road
At 9:45 p.m. March 28, a Maple Heights man, 26, was involved in a crash with a Sandusky man, 48. The Maple Heights man drove from the scene.
Police soon after located the suspect’s car and learned that he was intoxicated. Police charged the man with OVI and an OVI enhanced penalty for leaving the scene of an accident.
The suspect was also cited for a marked lanes violation and for failure to control his vehicle. The man was found to have a blood alcohol content of .180, above the state minimum for drunk driving of .08. He declined medical treatment.
Obstructing official business: Lee Road
At 1:20 p.m. March 27, a city employee reported a disturbance at a Lee Road residence. There, a Hudson woman, 50, who had been drinking and who is known to have a history of mental illness, was causing a disturbance. A court had barred the woman from being at the residence via a temporary protection order.
The woman claimed to be ill while continuing to be disruptive, argumentative and abusive to police. She was charged with obstructing official business and taken to a medical facility.
Theft from auto: Warrensville Center Road
At 12:25 p.m March 29, a woman, 71, reported that someone entered her unlocked car, which had been parked over night in a garage, and stole approximately $1,000 worth of property.
Assault: Scottsdale Boulevard
At 1:10 p.m. March 28, police detained for assault a woman, 25, who during an argument struck with an open hand her neighbor, a woman, 21. The victim’s injury was treated at the scene.
OVI: Lee Road
At 4:05 a.m. March 30, an officer stopped a car at Lee and South Woodland roads for weaving. The driver, a Euclid man, 28, was found to be intoxicated. Police charged the man with OVI and cited him for driving with a suspended license, weaving and a marked lanes violation. The man refused to take a breath test.
Theft from auto; Lansmere Road
At 7:25 a.m. March 30, a man, 44, reported that someone entered his unlocked car, parked over night in his driveway, and stole approximately $200 worth of personal property and money.
Burglary: Chelton Road
At 8:15 p.m. March 31, a woman, 33, reported that someone entered her locked home and stole personal property.
