TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) --- Topeka Police say a second person has been found dead near an overnight shooting scene in southeast Topeka.

Topeka police investigate the shooting death of Mark Edwards, 37, who was wounded around 11:25 p.m. Tuesday in the 1400 block of S.E. 14th.
Officers say they are investigating the second body located near 13th and Locust, a block from the first scene at 14th and Locust.
They could not confirm the second person was shot or if it was related to the overnight shooting.
Mark Edwards, 37, was identified as the first victim found just before midnight.

The slaying was the sixth homicide of the year and second in the past five days in Topeka, according to WIBW NEWS records.
The most recent homicide was reported around 11:25 p.m. Tuesday, when police received multiple reports of gunshots in the area of S.E. 14th and Locust, near Freedom Valley Park.
Officers responding to the scene found Mark Edwards, 37, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Edwards was taken to a local hospital in critical condition but later died.
Topeka police told 13 NEWS on Wednesday morning that several people had been taken to the Law Enforcement Center for questioning.
There were no immediate reports of arrests, nor was any suspect information released.
On Wednesday morning, police scoured the area of S.E. 14th Street between Illinois and Locust streets for evidence. Officers also shined flashlights and used metal detectors in yards on the north side of S.E. 14th, across the street from Freedom Valley Park.
Crime-scene tape was placed over a large area of the 1400 block of S.E. 14th, including around a basketball court in the park.
More than a dozen evidence markers were placed on S.E. 14th and on the basketball court and an adjacent parking lot near the east end of Freedom Valley Park.
A black sport utility vehicle with its driver's door open also was in the crime scene, with officers searching around it for evidence.
The police department's Crime Scene Investigation Unit van pulled up around 5:45 a.m.
Officers remained on the scene past 7 a.m.
Additional details weren't immediately available.
In the city's previous homicide, a man was shot and killed Friday night in the 1200 block of N.E. Quincy. The victim in that incident was identified as Joseph Hill, 26, of Topeka. No arrests have been reported in that case.
