San Jose Police and hostage negotiators are at a home in the 4200 block of Senter Road after what appears to have been an early morning home invasion.

Police responded to home at about 12:38 a.m. Thursday, after a caller reported that several people broke into the home and assaulted family members, according to police spokesman Sgt. Enrique Garcia.

Upon arrival, police arrested one man outside of the home and set up a perimeter around the residence. Four victims from inside the home managed to escape, Garcia said, but several other people remain inside the residence along with what police believe are two additional suspects.

Senter Road is closed in the immediate area while hostage negotiators attempt to convince the suspects to surrender.
