UPDATE: 8:50 AM
The accident has been cleared and all southbound lanes are open.
I-95 south, however, is congested nearly six miles between exits 11 in Darien and 5 in Greenwich.
EARLIER STORY
A three-vehicle accident on southbound I-95 has closed the left lane in Greenwich Tuesday morning.
The crash, reported around 7:30 a.m., has shut down the lane between exits 6 and 5.
Average southbound traffic speeds are 17 mph, according to the state Department of Transportation.
Traffic cam images at 7:44 a.m. show vehicles stopped in the left lane with motorists standing near a concrete barrier.
State Police and other first responders are on the scene.
No word yet on whether there are any serious injuries.
