One man injured, suspects leave scene of Overland Park shooting - Shawnee Mission Post

A man was transported to an area hospital after reportedly being shot on Sunday afternoon in Overland Park.

Recorded radio traffic says officers were dispatched to a reported fight in the east parking lot of The Clines Apartments, 8400 block of Wedd Street, at 1:11 p.m.

Officer John Lacy, Public Information Officer for Overland Park Police, says two men confronted the victim about money that was owed.

“The victim chased the suspects out of the apartment,” Lacy said. “One of the suspects shot at the victim.”

According to radio traffic, the suspects left the apartment complex in a vehicle before officers arrived.

Johnson County Med-Act transported the man, with a single gunshot wound, to an area trauma center in stable condition.

Ofc. Lacy says the man’s injuries are non-life-threatening.

Officers cordoned off a stretch of the parking lot with police tape where the fight and shooting allegedly occurred until an Evidence Technician could document the scene.

Police say no arrests have been made, and they are not releasing any suspect information at this time.
