WOOD COUNTY, W.Va. (WTAP) - UPDATE; 12/26/20 8:50 P.M.
Dispatchers say at least two people were transported from the scene of a two vehicle wreck on Route 50 Saturday evening.
One was taken by helicopter, the other by ambulance.
Traffic was shut down on Route 50 so the helicopter could land, dispatchers say. Lanes began to close around 6:45 p.m. but were reopened by 7:40 p.m.
The wreck was called into the Wood County 911 Center about 5:34 p.m.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Department, Camden Clark Ambulance Services, St. Joseph’s Ambulance Services, the Eastwood Volunteer Fire Department, the Deerwalk Volunteer Fire Department, and the Cairo Volunteer Fire Department were all on scene.

Dispatchers at the Wood County 911 Center say a two vehicle wreck near the intersection of Volcano Road and Route 50 has resulted in entrapment.
A supervisor at the center says it’s unclear how many people are trapped and whether or not there are any injuries.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Department is on scene with Camden Clark Ambulance Services, St. Joseph’s Ambulance Services, the Eastwood Volunteer Fire Department, Deerwalk Volunteer Fire Department, and the Cairo Volunteer Fire Department.
Dispatchers say the wreck was called into them around 5:34 p.m. Saturday.
