The post-credits scenes in the MCU have always been incredibly important in teasing what’s next in the Marvel franchise. However, fans were surprised when the credits for Avengers: Endgame starting rolling and no final scene popped up.

It turns out, there actually was a post-credits scene planned for Endgame that was going to set fans up for a new story within the franchise. However, Kevin Feige ultimately decided to cut the scene entirely.

This month, Marvel finally kicked off Phase 4 with WandaVision on Disney+. The original series stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany as they reprise their MCU roles for the sitcom-inspired project. Although WandaVision just arrived on Disney+, fans were going to get a hint at the new series at the end of 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.

As we all remember, Vision was killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. As a result, Vision did not appear in Endgame. It turns out, the post-credits scene for the film was originally going to set up Vision‘s return in WandaVision. However, according to Bettany, Kevin Feige ultimately decided to cut the post-credits scene.

“At one point I was going to be in a tag, where you opened a sort of body bag drawer and there was the Vision,” Bettany told IMDb. “Kevin kind of talked to me and said, ‘I’ve got to pull the shots.’ I was like, ‘Ugh!’ Because I really wanted that profit participation.”

Avengers: Endgame was meant to mark the end of an era in the MCU. Due to this, Feige opted to forego a traditional post-credits scene and included sounds of Tony Stark creating his first Iron Man suit. The inclusion allowed Marvel fans the chance to remember Stark one last time following his unexpected death in Endgame.

Along with all of this, Olsen finally revealed why Scarlet Witch is missing her Sokovia accent. Marvel fans were first introduced to Wanda in Avengers: Age Of Ultron where she talks in a strong accent. However, the character now speaks with an American accent.

Olsen tells Collider that Wanda’s accent “hasn’t gone anywhere” and that it naturally “lightened” when she moved to America.

“There have been reasons for everything,” Olsen says. “It lightened up when she started living in the States, and in WandaVision she is playing the role of being in an American sitcom. So, it’s not gone. It is absolutely still there.”

WandaVision is streaming now on Disney+.
