The first shipment of the 1,500 piece military cargo that has been staged at the Port of Beaumont is loaded onto a vessel bound for Europe and military training missions with NATO allies.
The cargo has been arriving by air and rail for over a week in preparation for the arrival of two transport sea vessels, the first of which arrived at the port early Wednesday morning.
The 842nd Transportation Battalion has worked from dawn to late night daily moving the equipment on board.
The mission continues next week, when a second ship is scheduled to arrive Monday to transport the final cargo load.
