SPRINGFIELD — A man was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Clark County, Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed.
Emergency crews responded to the accident on Urbana Road near Willow Road in Springfield at approximately 12:03 a.m. on Sunday.
Charles D. Alfrey, 53 from Quincy, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Alfrey was traveling south on Urbana Road when he drifted off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail, Sgt. David G. Slanker said in a press release.
Alfrey was not wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred.
OSHP confirmed that there were no other passengers in the vehicle.
The crash is still under investigation.
