One person died and a child was injured after a single-vehicle crash in Duquesne early Friday morning, according to Allegheny County police.
Crews responded to Route 837 near North Second Street around 3:30 a.m. where they found a man ejected from a vehicle and a child still inside the car, officials said. The man, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. The child was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
Police said one vehicle was involved in the crash.
Tribune-Review news partners WPXI-TV reported Route 837 will remain closed in both directions for several hours between North Second Street and Grant Avenue.
Traffic is being detoured onto Grant Avenue.
Homicide detectives are investigating the incident. Anyone with information regarding the crash can call the Allegheny County police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS.
