Police looking for driver who fled scene of fatal crash in Arlington - The Dallas Morning News

Arlington police are looking for a motorist who fled the scene of a fatal accident Friday afternoon.

Police said a pickup was driving east in the 1900 block of East Park Row Drive, near New York Avenue, about 2:50 p.m. when a westbound car turned in front of it, resulting in the pickup crashing into the car.

One passenger in the car was taken to Medical City Arlington Hospital and pronounced dead a short time later. The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office identified him as 41-year-old Benjamin Johnson of Eufala, Okla.

A second passenger in the car was hospitalized with serious injuries, and the pickup’s driver also was taken to a hospital.

Police said the car’s driver ran away from the scene of the crash, and they are now trying to identify that person.
