Police on scene at Days Inn in Rockford - WREX-TV

UPDATE: ROCKFORD (WREX) — Authorities say a man is in custody after barricading himself at a Rockford hotel.

The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office says they were called to help assist the Cherry Valley Police Department with an incident around 3 a.m. at the Days Inn hotel.

Authorities say a man wanted on an outstanding warrant refused to come out of a hotel room.

Police say after several hours, the suspect peacefully surrendered to authorities.

Loves Park Police, Machesney Park Police and Illinois State Police were also on scene throughout the morning.

ROCKFORD (WREX) — Authorities are on scene at a Rockford hotel this morning.

Cherry Valley Police, the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office, Machesney Park Police and Illinois State Police are on scene of the Days Inn hotel.

Details are still limited at this time, but traffic is being blocked off at the intersection of E. State St. and S. Lyford Rd.

Officers from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department, Cherry Valley Police and Illinois State Police are all on scene at the 200 block of South Lyford Road. Officials ask to avoid the area.
