The Port Townsend Film Festival has launched its search for a new executive director.
A position that is responsible for the entire organization, the executive director will lead the festival staff, will work closely with the board of directors, and will connect with the film festival community.
Over the course of her decade-long tenure, Janette Force, the departing executive director, has shaped the annual film festival into one of the top small independent film festivals.
Beyond the signature September festival, the organization offers year-round programming to the community with the annual Women & Film Festival, monthly virtual screenings, workshops, school outreach programs, and many community events.
The nonprofit has hosted two successful virtual film festivals and expanded its online presence with monthly screenings over the pandemic. Through these channels, the Port Townsend Film Festival now reaches far beyond the Olympic Peninsula.
The mission of the PTFF is to “spark community by connecting filmmakers and audiences.” Powered by hundreds of volunteers, members of the organization share a belief that film creates community and fosters conversations.
The board of directors is seeking an experienced leader for the full-time position. The nonprofit is looking to develop a diverse pool of candidates, with applications welcomed from all qualified regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, or national origin.
