Schenectady's Union Street is scene of large police response - Times Union

A large police response was centered on a house on Union Street, Schenectady, Wednesday, May 12, 2021.

SCHENECTADY -- Police Wednesday evening blocked off a section of Union Street and focused their attention on a house near the Union Cafe.

The scene is near the border with Niskayuna and the street was blocked off between Regent Street and Palmer Avenue. About a dozen police officers converged on the scene.

Police did not disclose what the issue was but they were advising passersby to stay away for their safety. At about 7:45 p.m. a K-9 police dog and handler were heading toward the house. By shortly after 8 p.m., police were leaving the scene.
