Port Jeff's July Fourth festivities for residents are back on this year - Greater Long Island

The resident-only fireworks show and Fourth of July parade are both returning to Port Jefferson this summer.

Barbara Ransome, director of operations for the Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce, confirmed to greaterportjeff.com that the annual fireworks show will be held on July 4 at 9:30 p.m. at West Beach.

The parade is the following day led by Port Jefferson Fire Department, from 10 a.m. to around noon.

Port Jefferson residents can watch the fireworks go off at West Beach or other viewing spots in the surrounding area such as Mount Sinai Harbor.

The parade on July 5 starts at the Infant Jesus Church and travels down into Main Street, making a left onto West Broadway and then a left onto Barnum Avenue.

The route ends at the Port Jefferson Firehouse on Maple Place.

“It’s a real hometown parade,” Ransome said. “Fire engine companies from all around Long Island participate, civic groups, the Chamber is going to have a brass band and old-fashioned fire truck in our little gathering, which will be fun.”
