Port Townsend police received 190 total calls for service between Monday, July 12 and Sunday, July 18. Below are selected reports.
At 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, a man called police to alert them that there was someone outside the courthouse yelling at employees and staff were afraid to leave the building.
No physical altercations with the man had occurred.
Officers arrived, contacted the man and advised him that the courthouse was closed before escorting him off the property. The man continued to linger in the area.
At 11 a.m. Thursday, July 15, a woman called police to advise them that she’d found a window screen had been torn in the 2100 block of Washington Street.
The woman said it did not appear that entry was made to the home but she had noticed several people at a park nearby, loitering until about 2 a.m. and she believed one of them was the suspect.
At 1 p.m. Thursday, July 15, three gunshots were reported near Fort Worden.
Officers went to the area of Fir and Cherry streets but were unable to locate the source of the shots.
At 3 a.m. Sunday, July 18, a woman in the 1200 block of Logan Street called police after witnessing someone jumping between porches at nearby homes.
The woman told police she saw the person also apparently peeking over fences, as well.
Officers arrived in the area about 22 minutes after the call due to being held up with another incident. They did not locate any suspects.
