PEORIA (HOI) -- Two fire captains were evaluated at local hospitals and one firefighter was treated for injuries following a structure fire in Peoria early Sunday morning.
Just after 12:00 a.m., crews responded to the 800 block of Richmond Avenue for a structure fire. Officials say the fire had also spread to the house next door.
Peoria Firefighters Local 50 president Ryan Brady said extreme heat played a factor in the injuries, as well as exhaustion due to limited responders available - crews had responded to a separate structure fire less than an hour prior.
Information about the cause of the fire and extent of damage has not been released.
