In the build-up to the 2021 college football season, CBS Sports and 247Sports released our preseason All-America teams this week. On Friday, 247Sports released its Preseason True Freshman All-America team. Preseason All-America teams are usually based on a combination of last season's performances and this year's potential, but with freshmen, we can only go on the latter. Still, freshmen are contributing more than ever, which means that by December and January there are bound to be a handful of breakout stars who will be household names.

Out of the 25 names on this year's Freshman All-America team presented by 247Sports, there are five that stand out as potential impact players. These are the names you should know now -- the ones who, for instance, could lead their team in receptions or crack the starting lineup on defense. While there will certainly be more impact freshmen than the five listed below, here are the ones best positioned to stand out in their college football debuts.

Texas WR Xavier Worthy

There's been one word to describe Worthy so far: fast. Speed kills, and Worthy ran a 10.55 100m as a sophomore at Central East High School in Fresno, California. And that's what first-year Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian is going to want as he implements a new offense while breaking in a largely new group of pass-catchers. Worthy, a four-star recruit from the 2021 class, has been turning heads this offseason. He possesses the potential to be the type of playmaker Sark enjoyed in bunches at Alabama: speedy, good at creating separation and catching the deep ball.

USC EDGE Korey Foreman

The No. 1 player in California has been grabbing attention during the Trojans' preseason camp standing in for Drake Jackson. Foreman can do a little bit of everything -- from putting his hand in the dirt to lining up as an outside linebacker. It's just a matter of reps at this point, but there's no denying his physical gifts at 6-foot-4 and 265 pounds. The Trojans are established along the D-line, and Foreman is only now getting into practice, but his size, burst and strength will find their ways on to the field. He and Jackson should form one of the best pass-rushing duos in the Pac-12.

Alabama WR JoJo Earle

The Crimson Tide have plenty of weapons at wide receiver already, but there's a chance for Earle to make an impact in the return game. Special teams is a great way for young players to see the field and Earle has the type of speed and nimbleness to take almost every kick back for a touchdown. A two-sport athlete in high school in football and track in Aledo, Texas, Earle should continue Alabama's now long lineage of speedy pass-catchers who can score from pretty much anywhere.

Ohio State RB TreVeyon Henderson

The Buckeyes' coaching staff is accumulating just an embarrassment of riches at almost every position on the recruiting trail -- running back not the least among them. Henderson joins a deep running back group led by Master Teague, but he's skilled enough to get carries during the season. The No. 1 running back recruit in the 2021 class has seen his first-team reps increase over the course of camp, and he gives the Buckeyes a weapon out of the backfield and in the return game. Coach Ryan Day is used to splitting carries between his running backs and quarterback, so don't be surprised if Henderson gets his early in the season. From there, all it will take is being the hot hand for his numbers to build.

The Nittany Lions are loaded in the defensive backfield; it might be the best group in the Big Ten. But even within that group, King has been making noise since spring ball. He's been one of coach James Franklin's biggest talking points with the true freshman showing technique and maturity beyond his years. While there's enough talent that King may not start right away, he's positioned himself to be a player in the two-deep who should see plenty of snaps. King has good size for the position and excellent athleticism. Don't be surprised if you hear his name called multiple times this fall for making a spectacular play on the ball.
