Southland crime: Matteson man accused of leaving scene after driving into two women in Tinley Park, and more - Chicago Tribune

Chicago Ridge

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: Nicholas Hoidas, 49, of Palos Hills, was arrested and accused of aggravated assault Aug. 27 after pointing a firearm at someone during a road rage incident Aug. 23 in the 10400 block of Ridgeland Avenue, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Jamal Rice, 28, of Tinley Park, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, no seat belt and no insurance Aug. 24 in the 9700 block of Ridgeland Avenue, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Shadi Awwad, 24, of Justice, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and expired registration Aug. 26 in the 7100 block of Stanford Avenue, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Darrick Johnson, 52, of Chicago, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, speeding and no insurance Aug. 28 in the 6600 block of 111th Street, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Alexander Glino, 26, of Alsip, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and speeding Aug. 28 in the 5900 block of West 111th Street, police said.

Homer Glen

AGGRAVATED SPEEDING: Miguel Gonzalez, 22, of Lemont, was arrested and accused of aggravated speeding and improper lane usage Aug. 11 in the 17000 block of West Bluff Road, police said.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: A man in the 13000 block of Lemont Road told police he was sleeping in his bedroom Aug. 11 when he woke to find an unknown man in his room. The unknown man apologized and left through a back window he had previously broken to gain entry. The suspect was seen leaving in an SUV parked in the victim’s driveway.

BUSINESS BURGLARIZED: Video surveillance captured two unknown men breaking into Smokers Kingdom in the 15700 block of Bell Road at 2 a.m. Aug. 13. The men stole vape pens and a shelf filled with CBD oils.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: A Homer Township employee told police and unknown person climbed onto the roof of a building at Morris Park, 15365 W. 163rd St., and tore off roof shingles sometime around Aug. 16.

New Lenox

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Sebastian Garcia, 19, of the 200 block of Hedgewick Court, Matteson, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and was ticketed for possession of open alcohol Aug. 17 at Williams Street and U.S. 30, police said.

RETAIL THEFT: Abel Andrade Jr., 18, of Joliet, was arrested and accused of retail theft after stealing $277 worth of merchandise from Walmart, 501 E. U.S. 30, on Aug. 21, police said.

DOMESTIC BATTERY: Elia Murry, 28, of the 2900 block of West Walton Avenue, Chicago; Keosha Tyler, 25, of the 6400 block of South Maryland, Chicago and Mariah Murry, 25, of the 200 block of North Latrobe, Chicago, were arrested and accused of domestic battery after police said they battered a juvenile girl Aug. 25. The arrests were made after police were called for a welfare check at the Route 66 Food and Fuel. The victim suffered minor injuries, according to a police report.

RETAIL THEFT: Lawrence Pierce, 53, of Romeoville, was arrested and accused of retail theft after stealing $226 worth of merchandise from Walmart, 501 E. U.S. 30, on Aug. 26, police said.

Orland Park

DRUG ARREST: Terrence Fisher, 35, of Chicago, was arrested and accused of possession of cocaine and ticketed for possession of marijuana July 27 after police found him smoking marijuana in the parking lot of Orland Square Mall, police said.

WEAPONS ARREST: Dorsey Flagg, 28, of Shorewood, was arrested and accused of unlawful use of a weapon, drunken driving and illegal transportation of alcohol Aug. 8 at 167th Street and LaGrange Road, police said. Flagg had a loaded handgun in his possession and does not possess a FOID card or a concealed carry license, according to a police report.

WEAPONS ARREST: Juron Brooks, 25, of Calumet City, was arrested and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after police found a loaded handgun in his car outside of Texas De Brazil in the parking lot of Orland Square Mall on Aug. 17, police said.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS: Dameon Pinkins, 44, of Merrillville, Ind., was arrested and accused of criminal trespass to land Aug. 18 after entering Homewood Suites, 16245 LaGrange Road, despite having been previously banned from the business, police said.

Tinley Park

HIT AND RUN: Tai Tran, 27, of Matteson, was arrested and accused of leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, drunken driving and improper lane usage after striking a pair of sisters in the parking lot at 183rd Street and Oak Park Avenue Aug. 15, police said. The two women were standing with two men outside of their car when they said Tran drove directly at them. The men were able to jump out of the way but not the two women. The men chased Tran’s car to a subdivision in Matteson near Timber Ridge Road and Ridgeland Avenue, where Tinley Park police located and arrested Tran after the men relayed his location.

REVOKED LICENSE: William Record, 27, address unknown, was arrested and accused of driving on a revoked license, expired registration and no insurance Aug. 16 in the 6800 block of Hickory Street, police said.

CAR BURGLARY: A man told police someone stole his iPad, school notebooks, car keys and a work polo shirt after the victim left his car parked outside of Fire Station 48, 9191 W. 175th St., on Aug. 16.

LOCKER BURGLARIZED: A man told police someone removed the lock from his locker at L.A. Fitness, 18400 Convention Center Drive, and stole his gym bag containing his wallet, $75 and clothing on Aug. 1.

Oak Forest

OBSTRUCTING JUSTICE: Noel Taboada, 25, of the 16300 block of Parliament Avenue, Tinley Park, was arrested and accused of obstructing justice, obstructed windshield and no insurance Aug. 23 outside Marathon Gas Station, 15301 S. Harlem Avenue, police said.

DUI ARREST: Martin Ortega-Reyes, 57, of Seguin, Texas, was arrested and accused of drunken driving, improper lane usage and no insurance Aug. 28 in the 16500 block of Cicero Avenue, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Aaron Watkins, 41, of Harvey, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and no seat belt Aug. 26 at 159th Street and Ridgeland Avenue, police said.

ORDER VIOLATION: Michael McCollum, 52, of the 10400 block of Southwest Highway, Worth, was arrested and accused of violating an order of protection Aug. 28 after an incident in the 15600 block of LeClaire Avenue, police said.

DOMESTIC BATTERY: Calvin Cooper, 23, of Joliet, was arrested and accused of domestic battery after an Aug. 28 incident in the 15900 block of Arroyo Drive, police said.

Palos Heights

DRUGGED DRIVING: Michael Beristain, 26, of the 6200 block of Lloyd Drive, Worth, was arrested and accused of drugged driving and improper lane usage Aug. 25 in the 6200 block of Lloyd Drive, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Martha De La Rosa-Torres, 27, of the 14500 block of South Pulaski Road, Midlothian, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, no insurance and speeding Aug. 31 in the 7000 block of U.S. 83

Palos Hills

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Makinze Coleman-Johnson, 20, of Worth, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license Aug. 16 in the 11000 block of College Parkway, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Jvante Anderson, 27, of Dolton, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license after an Aug. 16 stop in the 7400 block of 103rd Street, police said.

SCAM: A victim in the 7900 block of 100th Place told police they were scammed out of $1500 after receiving an email from “Norton Anti-Virus” requesting payments in the form of Apple gift cards on Aug. 16.

ORDER VIOLATION: Arthur Doogan, 70, of Palos Hills, was arrested and accused of violating an order of protection Aug. 18 in the 7500 block of 103rd Street, police said.

Will County

CAR BURGLARY: Someone stole a purse from an unlocked truck parked outside of Willow Run Golf Course, 12600 W. 187th St., in Mokena on Aug. 11.

THEFT: Someone cut the catalytic converter off a motor home in the 19000 block of South Glasgow in Frankfort Township Aug. 12.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: An unknown woman wearing latex gloves was observed on a Ring camera entering an unlocked car in the 7500 block of West Hawthorne Lane in Frankfort Township on Aug. 12. Nothing appeared missing.

CAR BURGLARY: Police said someone stole a wallet from an unlocked car parked in the 20000 block of South Acorn Ridge Drive in Frankfort Township on Aug. 12.

CAR BURGLARY: Police said someone ransacked an unlocked car in the 7500 block of West Woodlawn Drive in Frankfort Township Aug. 12.

BUSINESS BURGLARY: Police said someone smashed the front glass door of Bootleggers at 7709 W. St. Francis Road in Frankfort Township Aug. 12. The burglars stole cash registers, money, cartons of cigarettes and a credit card machine and also damaged an ATM.

BATTERY ARREST: Geovanni Delgado, 23, of Plainfield, was arrested and accused of battery after an Aug. 13 incident in the 400 block of Old Hickory Road in New Lenox Township, police said.

HIT AND RUN: Troy Eichstadt, 40, of Nekoosa, Wisc., was arrested and accused of leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, no insurance and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident Aug. 11 in the 2900 block of East Goodenow Road in Crete Township, police said.

CAR BURGLARY: Police said someone broke into a work vehicle and stole power and flooring tools in the 3200 block of South Ridgeland Avenue in Peotone Aug. 12.

DUI ARREST: Becky Thompson, 54, of Cedar Lake, Ind., was arrested and accused of drunken and drugged driving, driving while license revoked, three counts of endangering the lives of a child, violation of child restraints and no insurance Aug. 12 at 120th Avenue and Joliet Road in Peotone, police said. Thompson was also processed on an active arrest warrant from Kankakee.

BURGLARY ARREST: Nicole Langdon, 42, of the 0-100 block of West Division in Manteno, was arrested and accused of residential burglary after an Aug 12. incident in the 7900 block of Southbranch Drive in Monee, police said.

HOME BURGLARY: Police said someone broke into a home in the 23000 block of Deborah Court in Crete Aug. 14 and stole jewelry, cash and five designer bags.

Country Club Hills

DOMESTIC BATTERY: Brandon A. Marr, 33, of the 18900 block of Martin Lane, Country Club Hills, was arrested and accused of domestic battery Aug. 15 in that block, police said.

ILLEGAL GUN: Immanuel M. Stone, 21, Fargo, North Dakota, was arrested and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after he was found to have a 9 mm handgun with an extended magazine containing 33 rounds without the necessary state gun permit and concealed carry license during an Aug. 15 traffic stop at Cicero Avenue and Sunset Lane, police said.

ILLEGAL GUN: Joey D. White, 28, Chicago, was arrested and accused of unlawful use of a weapon after police recovered an undisclosed weapon during an Aug. 15 investigative stop near Mena’s Hair Design, 4287 W 167th St., police said.

BATTERY: Jeremiah J. Coleman, 21, of the 18600 block of Laramie Road, Country Club Hills, was arrested and accused of battery and Brijah O. Gutierrez, 22, of the 18600 block of Laramie Road, Country Club Hills, was arrested and accused of trespassing and assault during an Aug. 16 domestic-trouble investigation in that block, police said.

TRESPASSING: Deon M. Evans, 20, Chicago, was arrested and accused of trespassing during an Aug. 16 panhandling investigation at a store in the 18300 block of Cicero Avenue, police said.

NEGLECT: Romelia Robledo, 27, of the 17800 block of Springfield Avenue, Country Club Hills, was charged with neglect of a minor Aug. 18 in that block after officers, responding to a complaint, determined two young children had been left alone, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Bria A. Jones, 26, of the 700 block of Red Oak Lane, University Park, was charged with driving on a suspended license, failing to yield and expired registration during an Aug. 19 two-vehicle crash investigation near Flossmoor Road & Cicero Avenue, police said.

Homewood

DUI: Dion Whittington, 31, Chicago, was arrested and accused of drunken driving, failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision and illegally transporting alcohol Aug. 18 in the 17900 block of Halsted Street, police said.

NO LICENSE: Fanta Lewis, 41, 18200 block of Stewart Avenue, Homewood was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and avoiding a traffic-control device Aug. 19 in the 10100 block of 183rd Street, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Shannan Tounsel, 28, 3200 block of 184th Street, Homewood, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and expired registration Aug. 19 at Willow Road and Dixie Highway, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Tatyana Urbina, 21, 100 block of 25th Street, Chicago Heights, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and expired registration Aug. 19 at 187th and Halsted Streets, police said.

DUI: Shaunta Hopkins, 32, 14700 block of Vine Avenue, Harvey, was arrested and accused of drunken driving with a blood-alcohol concentration above the legal limit, illegally transporting alcohol, disobeying a stop sign and improper lane use Aug. 21 at 183rd Street and Park Avenue, police said.

VANDALISM: Stanley Green, 19, 8800 block of Harlem Avenue, Bridgeview, was arrested and accused of trespassing on private property and criminally damaging a garage window Aug. 22 in the 18500 block of Argyle Avenue, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: James Harris, 62, 2200 block of Windsor Lane, Country Club Hills, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and expired registration Aug. 22 in the 18300 block of Kedzie Avenue, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Martell Heard, 29, Escondido California, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and driving without headlights when required Aug. 23 at 187th Street and Dixie Highway, police said

NO LICENSE: Tyreese Heard, 20, 17700 block of Springfield Avenue, Country Club Hills, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and speeding Aug. 23 in the 1600 block of 183rd Street, police said.

Oak Lawn

ILLEGAL GUN: Shaun M.A. Patton, 40, Chicago, was arrested and accused of unlawfully using a weapon during an Aug. 5 parking lot crash investigation in the 4800 block of 111th Street after he was found to have a handgun and two loaded magazines without a concealed-carry permit, police said.

NARCOTICS: Matthew M. Barry, 37, undisclosed block of 92nd Street, Oak Lawn, was arrested and accused of illegally possessing a controlled substance Aug. 6 in the 9100 block of Central Avenue after officers recovered two suspected “crack” cocaine rocks, police said.

DUI: Marcin Jarog, 41, undisclosed block of 80th Court, Palos Hills, was arrested and accused of drunken driving with a blood-alcohol concentration above the legal limit and improper lane use Aug. 6 at 99th Street and Cicero Avenue, police said.

THEFT: A package was reported stolen Aug. 5 from the common area of a condominium building in an undisclosed block of Keating Avenue.

WARRANT SERVICE: Curtis L. Brown Jr., 25, undisclosed block of 54th Avenue, Oak Lawn, was taken into custody on Madison County failure-to-appear warrants for a felony-theft charge and a felony-forgery charge Aug. 8 in that block, police said.

NO LICENSE: Shawn F. Head Jr., 26, Chicago, was arrested and accused of driving without a valid license, driving without insurance and violating seat belt law Aug. 8 in the 4200 block of 95th Street, police said.

NO LICENSE: Jesus Hernandez, 44, Chicago, was arrested and accused of driving without a valid license and improper lane use Aug. 8 in the 9500 block of Southwest Highway, police said.
