Salisbury police are asking for the public's help in finding the driver of the pickup truck.

An Amesbury mother is dead after she was reportedly struck by a pickup truck while riding her bicycle late Friday night in Salisbury.

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the driver.

Authorities were called to Folly Mill Road around 11:16 p.m. following a 911 call. There, police determined that the bicyclist was hit by a pickup truck that was towing a small camper, authorities said in a press release.

The bicyclist, Rebecca Bartczak, 39, of Amesbury, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

“The preliminary investigation revealed that the truck involved was carrying a small camper, which dislodged after the crash,” police said in a press release. “The vehicle left the scene but was located in Kensington, N.H. by Hampton Falls police 30 minutes later.”

Bartczak leaves two children, according to a GoFundMe started by an Amesbury high school teacher.

“Becky was a dedicated, caring, hardworking, and very loving mother to our student and his young sister,” the fundraiser said. “The young man recently became a father as well, and it is absolutely devastating to think of his daughter growing up without her grandmother.”

Anyone who may have seen the crash, or may have information about, is asked to call Salisbury police Sgt. Keith Forget at 978-465-3121.
