Overnight wreck on I-565, multiple units on scene - Huntsville - WAFF

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Emergency crews were on the scene of a deadly multi-vehicle wreck on I-565, near the intersection of Highway 72 at 3:00 a.m. Saturday.

Huntsville Police says two people were killed in the wreck and five others were transported to a local hospital. The identities of the two who were killed have not been released as the family is being notified.

As of Saturday morning, the road between Highway 72 westbound at the Sparkman exit and Eastbound I-565 at the Oakwood exit is closed. Investigators hope to have the road reopened soon.

Charges are expected at a later date pending toxicology results.

When we arrived on the scene, it appeared a truck and another vehicle was involved in the wreck.
