UPDATE: Man, 70, found dead after fire engulfs central Pa. home: coroner

At least one person is dead following a Friday night fire that engulfed a York City home, authorities said.

The three-alarm blaze was first reported at 9:53 p.m. in four homes on the 300 block of Roosevelt Avenue, according to York County dispatch. Firefighters worked all night to extinguish the fire and only cleared the scene at 3:34 a.m. Saturday.

Photos on the York City fire department’s Facebook page show fire raging through the homes.

The York County Coroner’s Office confirmed at 11:38 p.m. on Twitter they were dispatched to the scene. However, they could not provide any further details because they were waiting to gain safe access.

The coroner’s office said it will be releasing updates on the situation as they become available. As of 8 a.m. Saturday no additional details have been provided.

Dispatchers could not say whether anyone was transported from the scene with injuries. It is unclear how many people were pronounced dead after the fire.
