The Mandalorian Season 3 Finale's Post-Credits Scene Choice Explained - Men's Health

The following story contains spoilers for the Season 3 finale of The Mandalorian, titled "The Return."

IT WAS an absolutely action-packed and emotion-fueled Season 3 finale for The Mandalorian, one that saw an incredible aerial battle between a Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff)-led army of Mandalorian warriors (including The Armorer (Emily Swallow)), a final showdown between Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal), Grogu, and the evil Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito), a Mythosaur sighting, and perhaps the most adorable adoption in the history of Mandalore (This is, indeed, the way).

In fact, so much happened in the Season 3 finale—titled "The Return"—that one could probably make the case that if this was the last episode of The Mandalorian (and it's not, because Season 4 has already been written) that we'd be pretty content with the ending. Most of the major plot threads of the show's first three seasons—Grogu's path, Din and Grogu's bond, the Darksaber, Moff Gideon—have largely wrapped up, and the season ends with Din and Grogu just kicking back with some good times.

But that can't just be it, can it? Keep in mind that after Season 2's sad, sad finale (which saw Grogu heading off to Jedi training with Luke Skywalker) we got a tease after the credits of Boba Fett re-taking Jabba the Hutt's palace for himself with the help of Fennec Shand. This was a direct set-up for The Book of Boba Fett, which would debut just around a year later.

Could The Mandalorian Season 3 have a similar trick up its sleeve?

Does The Mandalorian Season 3 Finale have an after-credits scene?

It does not. And that's great! We've seen Din and Grogu go through absolute hell since we first met them back when Season 1 debuted in 2019. Remember how sad (and, honestly, over-violent) Din was in The Book of Boba Fett when he was separated from his little friend/now-son?

Surely there will be more trouble, and, thus, more adventures ahead. But for now, we can all be happy that these two have found a little bit of peace in the cabin that Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) got for them on Nevarro. And there's plenty of room for Grogu to practice The Force on frogs, so really, truly, no complaints from anyone.

Of course, we know that there's more Star Wars trouble coming very soon. Ahsoka, also from the team of Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, will hit Disney+ later this year, and we know that the titular character, Ahsoka Tano (played in live-action by Rosario Dawson) is already a friend of both Din and Grogu. If she finds her hands full at any point with the villainous Grand Admiral Thrawn (or any other Imperial remnants she crosses paths with), it's not hard to imagine a favor being called in with our favorite Mandalorian bounty hunter and young apprentice.
