KANANASKIS COUNTRY – Emergency crews are on scene of a plane crash in Kananaskis Country on Saturday (July 29).
The plane went down approximately five kilometres north of Kananaskis Village, according to a spokesperson with the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB).
As of now, authorities have not confirmed injuries or deaths.
A TSB spokesperson said the plane left the Springbank Airport just before 9 p.m. Friday (July 28).
After it was reported overdue, a search party was sent.
TSB has deployed two investigators to the scene.
The popular Heart Creek Day Use Area has been closed off to the public until further notice as various emergency agencies use the parking lot as a staging area.
The Outlook will update when more information is available.
Earlier this month, a float plane crashed into the Spray Lakes reservoir in Kananaskis Country.
The pilot and lone occupant, a man in his 60s, was uninjured in the low-level crash on July 5.
