‘Fellow Travelers’ Team Dissect Jonathan Bailey and Matt Bomer’s Sexual Foot Scene and the Accident That Nearly Derailed It (EXCLUSIVE) - Variety

SPOILER ALERT: This interview contains spoilers from the series premiere of Showtime’s “Fellow Travelers,” now streaming on Paramount+.

The first episode of “Fellow Travelers” may have made you blush. The premiere of the historical miniseries features several explicit sex scenes between Tim Laughlin (Jonathan Bailey) and Hawkins Fuller (Matt Bomer), two very different men who meet in 1952 in Washington, D.C., in the middle of the McCarthy Era. While Hawk, working behind the scenes in politics, avoids anything emotional with his conquests, that changes upon meeting Tim, a religious man struggling to find his place.

In the exclusive video above, executive producer Daniel Minahan, who also directed the first two episodes, explains the making of one of the unique sex scenes. Tim arrives at Hawk’s apartment and wants an invite to an exclusive party, sitting on his lap to ask.

“We really exercise this mantra of ‘Who has the power?’ You would think that Hawk has the power, we’re in Hawk’s apartment. Tim turns the table on him and seduces him,” says Minahan. Hawk stops him at first, pushing him to the floor.

“This is where the power dynamic keeps flipping,” says Minahan. Hawk pushes his foot up on Tim, who ends up sucking on Hawk’s toes. After doing so, Tim gets to go to the party. “In the end of the scene, Tim, who was at a disadvantage, clearly got what he wanted. In reality, they probably both wanted the same thing.”

Behind the scenes, there was a bit of a problem: Two days before filming, Bomer stubbed his toe and thought it was broken.

“He had a big bandage on his toe. I said, ‘Well why don’t we put the other toe in Johnny’s mouth,'” says Minahan. “And then of course, in between takes, we would wash his feet. You have to think those kinds of things, especially poor Johnny, he had to do that scene a number of times.”

The show’s intimacy coordinator worked closely with both the actors and producers to prepare and choreograph all the love scenes. While the eight-episode series, created by Ron Nyswaner, includes multiple sex scenes, they didn’t want to repeat the same sexual activity more than once. It was something finessed first in the writers’ room, then continuously worked on during production.

In an interview with Variety, executive producer Robbie Rogers described how Nyswaner and the production handled intimate scenes on the whole. “There were plenty of times I know where Ron met with actors and they would have input. Ron was our guiding light in everything. He was very open-minded to having discussions with other writers and the actors,” Rogers says. “Gay sex has been depicted on television and film, and exists in some of my favorite films, but in this, I feel like it’s a little different. It’s the power dynamic that shifts throughout all the episodes, and the characters change and adapt. Our characters change over the course of their sexual experience.”

It’s important to note that while the show contains graphic sex scenes, that isn’t and shouldn’t be the focus.

“There was no intention to push the envelope, or be salacious,” says Rogers. “It was about being authentic to the feeling of when you are so careful with every decision you make in your life and keep secrets and are hiding things away from everyone, when you finally get those intimate moments, that sex can be incredibly passionate or aggressive or tender or very emotional — because every other aspect of your life is so protected.”

The series, based on the novel by Thomas Mallon, chronicles Tim and Hawk’s romance through the four decades, including through the Lavender Scare in the 1950s and the AIDS crisis of the 1980s, during which Hawk visits an ailing Tim.

Before reading the novel, Rogers didn’t know much about the Lavender Scare, a movement by the U.S. government during which they fired any gay man or woman, claiming they were a threat to national security.

“I was drawn to the love story, set where the stakes are really high and there’s a lot to lose. To look back in our history, it’s an incredibly sad thing — but as a storyteller, and just as an audience member, it’s an interesting place to set a love story,” he says. “In my past life, I was a professional athlete who grew up in locker rooms and was closeted for half of my career. I would never compare it to the Lavender Scare or the AIDS epidemic, obviously, but I very much could relate to the feeling of being extremely closeted and secretive, and living in a very homophobic environment.”

In addition to the love story, Rogers hopes viewers learn a bit about history and how, unfortunately, it’s similar to some things happening today.

“History really does repeat itself if we’re not aware of what’s going on,” he says when asked what he hopes the audience takes from the show. ‘

He warns the next point is cheesy: “It’s never too late to embrace love or accept love.”

“Fellow Travelers” airs Fridays on Paramount+ and Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on Showtime.

Does Five Nights At Freddy's Have a Post-Credit Scene? - NBC Insider

The new horror flick Five Nights at Freddy's is officially open for business, lighting up the box office and streaming on Peacock — but is there anything left to give us one last scare after the screen turns black?

With the movie now open wide, we look to answer the question that plagues us all with every new movie: Is there a post-credit scene?

Does Five Nights at Freddy's Have a Post-Credit Scene?

Yes! The new horror film Five Nights at Freddy's does have a post-credit scene that falls in the middle of the film's credits, just after the stylized credits end. So be sure to stick around!

What's In the Five Nights at Freddy's Post-Credit Scene?

The post-credit scene cuts to outside Freddy FazzBear's pizza place, with the taxi driver played by YouTuber CoryxKenshin just trying to avoid all the weirdness happening inside. He hears a knock at his door and tells the potential fare he's closed — only to turn around and realize Balloon Boy has already made his way into the cab, anyway.

For those unfamiliar with the games, Balloon Boy is a smaller animatronic toy who causes mischief and trouble for the security guard. He was introduced in the second Five Nights at Freddy's game. Balloon Boy pops up in small cameos a few times in the movie itself, but his role in the post-credit scene could hint at a larger part to play in a potential sequel.

RELATED: How to Play all the Five Nights at Freddy’s Video Games

The film is based on the cult hit video game, which follows a lone security guard as he tries to keep things safe (and not deadly) working the night shift at a defunct pizza parlor that's basically Chuck E. Cheese but a whole lot creepier. You see, at this pizza place the animatronic creatures are possessed killers who come to life at night and aim to kill anyone who is crazy enough to be kicking around Freddy's after hours.

What Is the Five Nights at Freddy's Film About?

The film stars Josh Hutcherson as security guard Mike Schmidt, who takes on the night shift gig at Freddy FazBear's Pizzeria and gets a whole lot more than he bargained for when the animatronic creatures Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy come to life and start stalking him and his little sister Abby (Piper Rubio) who tags along with him.

The PG-13 horror film is based on the beloved games series, which runs for close to a dozen entries and follows pretty much the same concept — you play a security guard trying to survive the week locked inside Freddy's when the killer animatronics come to life. The games have become a cult hit cultural phenomenon, with the bizarro aesthetic breaking through with merchandising and general buzz far beyond the games themselves at this point.

How to Watch Five Nights at Freddy's

Five Nights at Freddy's is now in theaters (tickets available at Fandango) and streaming on Peacock. The day-and-date release method was applied to previous Blumhouse/Universal offerings like Halloween Kills, Firestarter, and Halloween Ends.

Fans can sign up for Peacock Premium for $5.99 a month (or $59.99 for the year) and get 80,000-plus hours of the best in TV, movies, and sports.

Peacock Premium Plus, which includes no ads (limited exclusions), the ability to download select titles and watch offline, and your local NBC channel live, 24/7, is available for $11.99/month or $119.99/year.

Maine shooter's body was found in a recycling center trailer - NPR

An American flag is set to half mast Saturday on a football field in Lisbon Falls, Maine, just a few hundred yards from a recycling facility where law enforcement found the body of Robert Card, the suspect in this week's mass shootings. Robert F. Bukaty/AP

    Robert F. Bukaty/AP

Authorities in Maine said Saturday that the body of the suspect in Wednesday's mass shooting in Lewiston, 40-year old Robert Card, was found inside a trailer close to a recycling center Friday evening.

A self-inflicted gunshot wound was the apparent cause of his death, after a two-day manhunt prompted by the latest U.S. mass shooting — at a bowling alley and bar — that left 18 people dead and 13 wounded.

Maine Public Safety Commissioner Mike Sauschuck said nearby trailers had previously been cleared twice by police teams, before another state police team responding to concerns by the site's owner had found Card's body alongside two guns inside a trailer in an overspill car park.

Sauschuck told reporters in Lewiston that police had recovered another weapon, that he called a "long gun," inside the suspect's car, but did not provide further details on the weapon.

A note found during the investigation had been addressed by Card to a "loved one," Sauschuck said, and though it was not an explicit suicide note, it did include access codes to his bank accounts and a cellphone that investigators are currently trying to examine.

On Friday, police released the names of all 18 victims of the Wednesday night gun rampage that devastated the community. The dead ranged in age from a couple in their 70s to a teenage boy.

The city's police chief told Maine Public that he and some of his officers knew some of the victims or their families, given the close-knit nature of the community in the state's second largest city.

"Seeing these pictures come up on the board, I know a couple of them myself," said Lewiston Police Chief David St. Pierre, speaking at a news conference Friday with the photos of the victims shown on a screen behind him.

A moment of silence was observed while authorities read out the names of the dead, and showed photos provided by their relatives.

Maine public safety officials announced that the body of the sole alleged shooter had been found dead near the local Androscoggin River, in the small town of Lisbon Falls, about 10 miles southeast of Lewiston.

Officials express relief after the massive manhunt ends

Local and state officials expressed relief after law enforcement had scoured several local communities that were placed on lock down, with shelter-in-place orders issued to all residents and Card described as armed and dangerous.

Across rural areas of the most forested state in the nation, hundreds of officers from various local forces and agencies had been called up to help in the search for the suspect.

People will now be able to gather in person for the first time since the shooting to hold events like vigils, which had only been taking place online due to that active manhunt.

Maine Gov. Janet Mills said that it was now "a time to heal," while acknowledging that though Card might no longer pose a threat, there would be many people for whom his death would "not bring solace."

After she had informed the White House of the suspect's death, President Biden issued a statement calling the episode a "tragic two days" for the entire country as well as the city of Lewiston.

"Once again, an American community and American families have been devastated by gun violence," Biden's statement added, before referring to the actions he said Republicans in Congress must make to help end the country's gun violence epidemic. "Americans should not have to live like this."

'Fellow Travelers' team on Jonathan Bailey, Matt Bomer sex scenes - Entertainment Weekly News

Warning: This article contains spoilers from the Fellow Travelers premiere, "You're Wonderful."

At a New York City screening of the Fellow Travelers premiere, located in the vintage-styled cellar of the Roxy Cinema of Manhattan's Tribeca district, Ron Nyswaner, the Oscar-winning scribe behind the drama, made clear to those in attendance: "This show is really gay." Now that the first episode of this historical miniseries is out on Paramount+ ahead of Sunday's debut on Showtime, a general audience can see for themselves just how gay we're talking.

There are multiple explicit sex scenes in the first hour alone, including one particular sequence that sees Tim Laughlin (Bridgerton's Jonathan Bailey) sucking on the toes of Hawkins Fuller (Magic Mike's Matt Bomer) in the 1952 Washington, D.C., setting. It's his way of seducing his closeted lover in order to gain access to an exclusive party on the Hill. "I'm your boy, right?" Bailey's Tim says. "And your boy wants to go to the party." Then the old adage of putting one's foot in one's mouth becomes all too literal.

It's... wooh! ... It's sizzling. But Daniel Minahan, who the directs the first couple episodes and executive produces the show as a whole, wants to emphasize there's more going on here than just the sight of Bailey sopping up Bomer's piggly wigglies.

Matt Bomer's Hawkins Fuller and Jonathan Bailey's Tim Laughlin amid the throes of sex in 'Fellow Travelers'. Showtime

"The thing that was important to me was that the sex scenes were always telling a story, and they weren't just gratuitous," the Assassination of Gianni Versace Emmy winner tells EW. "They were about control. They were about power." It's something he set up right from the beginning. "In the first scene where they make love, Hawk has the power," the filmmaker explains, adding how that initial masturbation scene is Tim "having this almost transcendent experience with Hawk, which imprints on him."

"The scene where Tim withholds the information until [Hawk] agrees to take him to the party, within that, Hawk tries to dominate him," Minahan continues. "Sticking his foot in his mouth really was a dominance over him, but in that case, who's the dominant one and who's the submissive one? It seems like Tim ended up getting what he wanted in the end."

There's a lot more to Fellow Travelers than just sex, though it certainly doesn't hurt. The eight-episode drama oscillates between the AIDS crisis of the 1980s, where Hawk visits an ailing Tim in San Fransisco; and the previous decades during which these on-again-off-again lovers have crossed paths. There's a tense vibe to the 1950s timeline as McCarthy begins the Lavender Scare, a purging of homosexuals from government work. But ultimately, the creators of the show realize that, for better or worse, people are going to be taking particular notice every time a bare bum or the like flashes across the screen.

"Oscar Wilde said, 'Everything in life is about sex except for sex. Sex is about power.' That was one rule," Nyswaner separately tells EW. "The other rule is that we try not to do the same sexual act more than once. When we were writing episode 8, my co-writers and I said, 'What haven't we done?'"

Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey in 'Fellow Travelers'. Showtime

Robbie Rogers, the former-soccer-star-turned television producer, makes note of the authenticity of depicting same-sex sex. "When you're with Tim and Hawk in Tim's apartment, you really feel the intimacy and what it's like between two men before and after having sex," he says. "Some people might feel awkward, but I feel like in our story it feels quite authentic and real."

Rogers confirms a lot of planning went into pulling off these scenes between the producers, the episodic directors, the intimacy coordinators, and the actors themselves. There were "a lot of conversations about what [the actors] were willing and wanted to do," he adds. "A lot of that was actors [having] ideas about their characters. We were really open to those discussions."

While there will surely be many viewers thirsting after Bailey and Bomer's chiseled forms, Rogers hopes people will realize there's more to depicting such intense sex than just for the sake of it. "I hope this feels very real and part of the character storyline and they understand like the dynamics of power that are shifting," he says.

But also... you know, there's foot stuff.

Fellow Travelers airs Fridays on Paramount+ and Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime.

'Burning Betrayal's Pornographic Sex Scenes Make It Netflix's Steamiest Erotic Thriller Since '365 Days' - Decider

Disappointed that Jennifer Lawrence‘s rebellious No Hard Feelings nude scene had nothing to do with sex? Yearning for the days when you could count on a new 365 Days movie to drop fresh jaw-dropping sex scenes on Netflix? Well, you’re in luck. The #3 movie on Netflix right now is a Brazilian hump fest called Burning Betrayal. Its paper thin plot exists only to set up incessant sex scenes between stars Giovanna Lancellotti (which is a great name) and Leandro Lima (which is another great name). Burning Betrayal‘s multiple boinkfests might not be as wild as, say, the infamous 365 dniboat scene,” but they do border on the pornographic in much the same way…

Based on the book by Sue Hecker, Burning Betrayal follows the story of Babi (Giovanna Lancellotti), an accountant who dreams of hot sex with a mystery man while preparing to marry long-time boyfriend Caio (Micael Borges). When she discovers Caio has been cheating on her, she pulls a Sliding Doors and changes her hair color (from blonde to brown, though) and joins a motorcycle club to pursue hot judge Marco (Leandro Limo), who coincidentally is the man from her dreams. The two almost immediately begin having hot sex on the beach, hot sex on a picnic table, hot sex on a kitchen island, hot sex on a chair, hot sex in the shower, and occasionally, hot sex in bed.

    Photo: Netflix

Personally, the kitchen island sequence had me a little nervous. First because all that thrusting against a countertop might hurt. Then because, like, what if they turn the burners on by accident? Neither of these worries concerned our Babi and Marco, though! For them, all that mattered was the sweet freedom of boning.

The thing about Burning Betrayal is that while there is an element of danger in the plot, the sex scenes aren’t rooted in the BDSM fantasies of the 365 Days or 50 Shades trilogies. Okay, I guess there is one scene where Marco blindfolds Babi with his tie, but instead of pulling out handcuffs, clamps, or riding crops, he simply sensually massages her entire body by candlelight. Director Diego Freitas does seem to have a fascination with framing shots in such a way to focus on Lancellotti’s pierced nipples, but the choreography of the sex scenes put Babi’s pleasure first. Multiple montages kick off with Marco performing oral sex on Babi before she happily climbs on top of him.

I can’t really speak for the plot of Burning Betrayal — because I honestly do not care about the plot — but believe me when I tell you that the plot is not the point of this latest Netflix film.

I can’t really speak for the plot of Burning Betrayal — because I honestly do not care about the plot — but believe me when I tell you that the plot is not the point of this latest Netflix film. Much like the novel it’s based on — a tawdry romance novel you can read for free with Kindle Unlimited — it’s designed to provide sexual, not narrative, catharsis. The film opens on Babi’s sexual fantasy, inspired by her frustration, and ends with her paired up with the literal hot judge of her dreams. Burning Betrayal is about the sex scenes and, to wit, stars Giovanna Lancellotti and Leandro Lima put their whole bodies into this part of their performances.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Devs Have A Big Surprise Planned For Its Most Iconic Scene - Kotaku

Aerith stares straight ahead in the FF7 remake.

The immensely popular 1997 role-playing game Final Fantasy VII has been worshiped in its original form, grafted into a similarly admired 2020 remake, and now, developer Square Enix promises a magisterial “rebirth” in a PlayStation 5 exclusive set for February 29, 2024. Like the 2020 remake, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will act as both an effigy to the original—a breakthrough title for Japanese-made RPGs—and a reinvention of it, with improved graphics and new narrative beats that break from established lore, including a “surprise” during one of the game’s most memorable scenes, developers say.

Check Out Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (Pre-Order): Amazon

A bright yellow bar indicates a spoiler warning.

After you reach FFVII’s Forgotten Capital as swooshy-haired protagonist Cloud, the game drenches you in ice water and makes you watch as antagonist Sephiroth kills Cloud’s sweetheart Aerith. In the ‘90s, FFVII’s first disc ended here, on this frigid note.

At this week’s Thailand Game Show 2023, and while speaking to Indonesian gaming site Gamebrott, Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi issued a message “to all the gamers regarding this ‘you-know-what’ moment” in the Forgotten Capital: “we can confirm that we will give you a ‘big surprise,’” he said, according to a Google translation of the Indonesian text. “So you can look forward to later in the game.”

Hamaguchi, unsurprisingly, didn’t offer up the intricacies or extent of this “surprise,” and declined to engage with any fan theories (though he expressed his appreciation for them, saying “we really accept it and feel happy about the activeness of fans in creating various kinds of theories.”) But if it’s anything like the logical but potent plotline changes Square Enix made to its 2020 FFVII remake, it’ll likely frustrate those long-time fans who want to see their childhood memories faithfully recreated, while thrilling others with its breaks from the familiar timeline that suggest bold new narrative possibilities, all while perhaps leaving FF7 newcomers scratching their heads over what it’s all supposed to mean.

Example: in the ‘90s, FFVII’s arcane ending—protagonist Cloud defeats enemy Sephiroth for the last time, the world is overrun by an incorporeal Lifestream of mint-green energy—was impressive, and its post-credits scene, in which wolf-beast Red XIII runs around a leafy, seemingly uninhabited planet, was mind-blowingly (and, to some people, annoyingly) vague. The 2020 remake respects this history by blowing minds in a similar way, preserving ‘90s ambiguity but introducing fresh details to analyze.

Rebirth—which Hamaguchi tells Gamebrott features even more “extensive exploration” than the original FFVII, but leaves some of its charming features alone, like the minigames at Gold Saucer amusement park—seems set to do the same.

This deleted scene from Gran Turismo fills a crucial gap in the movie - Polygon

Did you know the 2023 sports drama Gran Turismo was based on a true story? Of course you did — that phrase was on every ad and poster for the movie. But it’s still kind of astonishing that its story, about a young fan of Sony’s sim-racing series who graduated to a career as a real-life racing driver, is indeed taken from the life of GT Academy winner Jann Mardenborough (Archie Madekwe), if only because his life fits the sports-movie formula so perfectly.

One thing the movie could use a little more of, though, as it races from one high-octane motorsports beat to the next, is a sense of how this whirlwind related to Jann’s personal life. His home situation is carefully set up at the start of the movie: We see what his skeptical dad Steve (Djimon Hounsou), supportive mom Lesley (Geri Halliwell-Horner), and competitive brother Coby (Daniel Puig) made of Jann’s rise from gamer to competitive racer. Those characters disappear in later acts, victims of the film’s tight edit — so it’s a pleasure to meet them all again in this deleted scene, which is included in the movie’s digital release (available Oct. 23), as well as the forthcoming DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K discs (out Nov. 7).

    Jann’s big reveal

The scene shows Jann meeting his family at a fancy restaurant for dinner — his treat — and letting them know that, following his success at GT Academy, he’s signed a contract to drive for Nissan Motorsports as a fully paid-up pro. But it isn’t quite the celebration Jann wanted. His parents seem dubious, while Coby, a would-be soccer pro himself (like their dad), can’t bring himself to take the news graciously.

The sequence nicely fills in some of the emotional texture the movie missed out on in its headlong rush for the feel-good finish line. Plus, we get more of the great Djimon Hounsou and his world-class disapproving frown — never a bad thing.

As well as this and other deleted and extended scenes, the digital, 4K, and Blu-ray versions of Gran Turismo include special features on the movie’s cast, visual effects, stunt work, and stable of cars, as well as on the true story of Jann Mardenborough.

Gran Turismo is out now on digital, and will be released Nov. 7 on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD.
