So, just assuming there was another shooting," Barcavage said.When he ran a block to the shooting scene, he found people yelling and running. He said the police responded immediately."I just saw a young mother holding a child and crying," Barcavage said. He thinks children today lack consequences."They're molding into young adults, and so I don't think they understand the ramifications of what can happen when you pull that trigger," Barcavage said.Rehabbing houses is one way he tries to help.He hopes the members of the community will do their part. "I think we can all get better. I think we can still build something here that's worthwhile. I don't quit," Barcavage said. The Harrisburg School District said the 11-year-old girl who was shot is a fifth grader at the Marshall Math Science School. The superintendent said counseling is available for any students who want to talk.
