LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - Laredo Police are revealing more details about its death investigation after three bodies were found inside a home in centra Laredo Monday afternoon.
The incident was reported on Jan. 8 at around 5 p.m. at a house located at the 800 block of Cortez Street.
Police say this a triple overdose case that claimed the lives of two women and a man.
According to preliminary reports, the victims were identified as Elizabeth Briones, age 43, Margarita Hernandez, age 52, and Jose Carmen Beltran, age 44.
Authorities say the house belonged to Ms. Briones and the other two friends had come over the evening before.
According to police, there was also a seven-year-old child present in the home at the time of the overdoses. She was unharmed and taken by family Monday evening.
Preliminary testing at the scene was conducted, and those results indicate narcotics with fentanyl were present at the home.
Additional testing and toxicology are pending autopsies results and the case remains under investigation.
This marks three drug overdose deaths reported in Laredo in 2024.
