LUTSEN, MN. (Northern News Now) - Three days after the Lutsen Lodge was destroyed, the Cook County Sheriff is stepping in.
According to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, the area of the Lutsen Lodge is now declared an official crime scene.
This comes after the State Fire Marshal announced on Wednesday that there were seven violations at the lodge’s last inspection in July.
As far as they knew, three had not been fixed at the time of the fire.
Authorities are asking the public to not enter without permission.
Deputies will be patrolling the area, and anyone found inside the taped perimeter will be arrested.
It was not stated why this decision was made.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
