'Survivor 46' exclusive deleted scene shows Q wanting to see some fight - Entertainment Weekly News

Q Burdette told us before the game that the one person he wanted to play with on Survivor 46 was David Jelinsky. Unfortunately for Q, he got his wish. The two were placed together on the Yanu tribe and then immediately came in last place during the marooning challenge, with Jelinsky failing to figure out the puzzle.

The duo then took on the Sweat task of filling two big urns with water, only for Jelinsky to quit because there apparently was some confusion over the meaning of the word several. And then Jelinsky quit on the Torch, Vote, Skull card game on his Journey — giving up his vote in the process. Suffice it to say, Q was not pleased. But all that could change if the tribe — and Jelisnky — could just come through in the upcoming immunity challenge.

EW now has an exclusive deleted scene (above) from the Survivor 46 premiere showing Q’s headspace going into that critical competition, and it seems the former college football star was actually looking forward to the contest so he could see what his tribe was made of.

In the scene, we see Jelinsky reading a Tree Mail message with the challenge clue: “Reptiles lurk in the jungle, lizards abound in this game. Cold-blooded serpents at Tribal Council are determined to put out your flame.” After the tribe try to guess what the challenge could be, Q shares his thoughts on getting to see his team back in action.

“Going into this challenge, I'm excited,” says Q. “Because I'm going to figure a lot out about my tribemates. I'm going to figure out who's willing to fight, who's not, who can step up to the challenge that they volunteer to do. So now, it's a time for me to put the people in the right position to lead them.”

As far as Q is concerned, the key for his tribe was to get rid of the loser mentality seeping in. “It's my job now to get their minds off of the past. We have to play the next play, because if you let that first challenge get to you and you get worried, we're going to go into this one timid. We have to attack it, because here's the beauty of it: We don't have to come in first. We just can't come in last.”

Unfortunately, coming in last is exactly what happened — with the Yanu tribe trailing throughout the entire thing. If Q wanted to see what his tribemates were made of, he cannot like we saw. Will the unanimous ouster of Jelinksy at the Tribal Council that followed change their fate moving forward? Only time will tell, but in the meantime, check out the deleted scene at the top of the article, and then you can go back to debating the true meaning of the word several.
