CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A man was arrested near Clifton Park after intentionally striking a deputy’s car and fleeing the scene according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office. Jacob Hayner, 37, faces several charges.
Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office deputies say they responded to a stolen car complaint on I-87 northbound near Exit 10 in Clifton Park Monday night around 6:39. Deputies say the car was reported stolen from a Stewart’s parking lot located at 1206 Route 14 and was found on I-87.
Hayner is accused of unlawfully fleeing a marked sheriff’s car when he was signaled to stop, and intentionally hitting the vehicle, causing damage exceeding $1,500.
Charges:
- First-degree reckless endangerment
- Second-degree criminal mischief
- Third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer in a car
- Moving from lane unsafely
Hayner was arraigned in Clifton Park Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail without bail pending further action in the case.
