MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Memphis Police Department is investigating three crime scenes across the city that they say are all linked to a shooting on I-240 that left three minors and one adult fighting for their lives Tuesday evening.
Police say they responded to the shooting on I-240 East near Poplar at 5:12 p.m. Tuesday.
Four victims, including three minors and one adult, were driven to Baptist Hospital Memphis before officers arrived. All four are listed in critical condition.
The victims have not been identified and their ages have not been disclosed.
Action News 5 crews captured the moment police officers set up crime scene tape around a vehicle that arrived at the hospital shortly after the shooting.
Officers located the suspect vehicle nearby and gave chase, during which an officer wrecked out at James Road and North Highland Street in Raleigh. MPD says he is uninjured.
Additional officers continued to pursue the vehicle until it crashed in the area of Mahue Drive and East Lakeland Drive. After a brief foot chase, two individuals were detained.
The cause of the initial shooting is still unknown.
