Wintry mix likely Monday…
A surface low is moving in from the south and west, and we are seeing all precipitation types. Rain, freezing rain and snow will quickly become snow. **For this reason, the NWS has issued a Winter Weather Advisory through midnight. **
Snow amounts...
2 to 3 inches of snow will fall with higher totals to the southeast of La Crosse. As much as 3 to 5 inches are likely in those areas, and roads will be slippery this evening. Please stay up to date with our STORMTRACKER app and on Facebook/Twitter.
Storm moves away...
The snow looks to taper off late in the evening, and travel will be impacted. However, we are NOT expecting similar conditions to our last major snow storm, and the amounts will be much less.
Sunny skies will return...
After a busy Monday, things quiet down across the Midwest. We are expecting some cooler air to surge back in for Tuesday through Thursday. Highs in the 20s Tuesday will drop to highs in the teens for Wednesday and Thursday. Frigid nighttime lows for Wednesday and Thursday mornings, will fall as low as -10 to -15 F.
Warmer Late Week…
As we head into Friday, it looks like we will see temperatures rise to well above average. Highs in the mid 30s for Friday turn to the low 40s for the weekend! As of now, precipitation chances look very low as drier air remains in place for most of the week.
Have a great and safe evening! Stormtracker 19 Chief Meteorologist Dan Breeden
