
PCSO reported that whoever drove the red pickup truck could face felony property damage charges when they are captured.
POLK CITY — A red Dodge pickup truck hit a concrete traffic signal pole at the corner of 125 S. Bougainvillea Ave. in Polk City and fled the scene Saturday, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
The large pole was knocked onto Highway 33 and there were no reports of injuries, the PCSO said.
A crane was used to move the pole out of the roadway.
Lakeland Electric, Florida Department of Transportation and Polk City officials were discussing which of them was in charge of the pole.
