ATLANTA ACTIVE SHOOTER: Former Coast Guardsman wanted after 1 killed, 4 injured in Midtown shooting - WSB Atlanta

ATLANTA — Atlanta police said at least one person is dead and at least four people have been injured in an active shooter situation on West Peachtree Street Wednesday afternoon.

Three of the victims have critical injuries. It’s unclear if all four people who were injured sustained gunshot wounds.

The shooter is still on the loose. He’s been identified by police as Deion Patterson, 24.

Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum confirmed that all five victims are women aged 25, 39, 39, 56 and 71. One of the 39-year-old women died from her injuries. None of them have been identified.

We have multiple reporters on the scene with LIVE wall-to-wall coverage as this story develops, on Channel 2 Action News throughout the evening.

Police said no additional shots have been fired since the incident unfolded, but officers are still actively searching for the victim and any other victims.

They say Patterson carjacked a vehicle a short distance away and used it to leave the scene as police arrived. That vehicle has since been recovered.

Atlanta police have released several photos of the alleged shooter pointing to what appears to be a handgun inside a set of glass doors. He’s wearing a gray or black hoodie and carrying a bag.

Police said they believe Patterson is armed and dangerous.

Channel 2 Action News confirmed that Patterson joined the U.S. Coast Guard in July 2018 and served as an Electrician’s Mate Second Class. He was discharged from active duty in January 2023.

Channel 2′s Michael Seiden was at the scene, where he saw what looked like hundreds of heavily-armed officers outside 1100 West Peachtree Street Northwest, which is a Northside Hospital facility.

Multiple agencies including Atlanta police, Atlanta fire, MARTA police, Georgia Tech police and the Georgia State Patrol responded to the situation.

A senior member of the Channel 2 Action News team was in the area and saw several people being taken out of the building on stretchers to waiting ambulances.

Channel 2′s Mark Winne saw several ambulances speed away from the scene. Winne said this is the largest police scene he’s ever seen.

Police released the shelter-in-place orders in the area just before 3 p.m. but they are asking everyone to remain out of the area.

Police said that a driver was carjacked at the intersection of 14th and Williams Streets not long after the shooting. The vehicle was later located by Cobb County police. Police have not given a description of the car.

Video circulated on social media of a man in similar clothing on top of the High Museum, but police said that person is a worker and was not involved in the shooting.

Atlanta Public Schools initially held students at several schools near the shooting but have since said police have cleared them to release students. APS said there will be officers stationed at all the schools that were held and transportation may be delayed.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to Patterson’s arrest. Information can be submitted anonymously to the Crime Stoppers Atlanta tip line at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or online at www.StopCrimeAtl.org.

This is the second mass shooting in Midtown in less than a year. Two people were killed in August of 2022 when a woman opened fire in a condo building on West Peachtree. That shooting appeared to be motivated by a dispute with the condo’s board.

"I had to do a love scene with Jordana": Paul Walker Was Nervous To Kiss Mark Wahlberg's Girlfriend in Fast and Furious - FandomWire

Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner was the most remarkable role he played before his untimely sad demise in 2013. Coming to the series as an undercover police officer tasked with bringing the protagonist Dominic down, O’Conner has changed his allies and started helping Dom to become one of the most important characters in the series.

O’Conner’s prominence in the franchise is just next to Dominic played by Vin Diesel. He helps Dom evade the police twice, clearing the police record and elevating Dom’s trust and the racer group later.

In his short career, Walker has appeared in a few successful movies including, the 2001 film Joy Ride and Takers which was released in 2010.

Mark Wahlberg and Walker’s co-star Jordana Brewster had a quiet relationship around the 2000s. It appears both the stars did not want high buzz following them. Hence, they have maintained their public appearances.

“We just know where to go, especially in L.A. If you want to get attention, you know where to go. And if you don’t, you go to more subdued places,” she once told Movieline.

Talking about the relationship, she said, “I always liked people who were older than me,” adding, “I just can’t imagine dating a 20-year-old boy.”

However, their incognito relationship lasted for just two years and quietly ended their relationship around 2001.

Following their break-up, The Lone Survivor actor told  Vanity Fair that they had very different backgrounds, “There’s nothing wrong with being privileged, but it reminds me of how hard I’ve had to work to get where I have,” Wahlberg said. “I have a hard time hearing about living on Fifth Ave. and having housekeepers and going to Yale.”

Brewster was a Yale graduate with a fairly upper-class lifestyle and upbringing while Wahlberg had a tough journey to reach his goal coming from a rougher origin.

Why Paul Walker was Nervous to Have Intimate Scene With His Co-star?

While Wahlberg and Brewster were dating, she landed a role in the Fast and Furious franchise alongside Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. As per the demand of the script, Walker and Brewster had an intimate scene to shoot but Walker was uncomfortable learning that Wahlberg might be on the set.

“I had to do a love scene with Jordana [and] she was dating Mark Wahlberg at the time,” he told TV Guide Online.

“And there was a rumor that he wanted to be on the set the day Jordana and I locked lips. I kept looking around to see if he was there. I admit I was a little nervous, but it was cool: Mark never appeared and Jordana was a complete sweetheart. The only downside was hearing the crew snickering while we were trying to get it on.”

Despite being aware of the Wahlberg-Brewster relationship, the cast, and crew did nothing to ease Walker’s concern. However, Wahlberg’s being on the set was a rumor.

Brewster and Walker’s onscreen chemistry on screen was pretty remarkable and remembered as one of the important pairs of the  Fast and Furious franchise. Even though they had never been in a real-life romantic relationship, Walker once admitted have a huge crush on Brewster.

“I love Jordana, I mean, I had a crush on her. I’ll always have a crush on her,” Walker once told E-News. “She’s just such a good girl. Going back, we were little kids, you know? So I’ve always been really protective of her.”

Later, the-43-year-old, Panamanian-American actress also revealed having a secret crush on Walker as well.

“I had a crush on him more after like… from 4 to 7 had a crush on him. “I never got to tell him that but I think on many levels he knew,” she once told E-News.

Following Walker’s untimely demise, the magic of the onscreen pair came to an end even before Furious 7. In the movie, the makers paid tribute to the actor with the song See You Again by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth.

How to Add a Scene Transition to Your Twitch Stream in OBS - MUO - MakeUseOf

There are many ways you can spice up your stream and add a little more personality to it using OBS. And just one of those ways is by adding a scene transition to make your scenes flow together more seamlessly.

OBS can be quite complicated, especially if you are new to the program. So if you want to add a scene transition to your stream, but you’re not quite sure how, you’ve come to the right place.

What Is a Scene Transition in OBS?

A scene on OBS is used to describe each of your different display options. For example, if you have a camera-only display that shows a close-up of your webcam feed, that is called a scene. If you also have a display where your viewers can see your gameplay, that is another scene.

By default, OBS will rapidly cut to each of your different scenes when you flick between them. This is fine, and it gets straight to the point, but it is also quite abrupt for your viewers. By adding a scene transition, you can get OBS to fade into your next scene nicely, rather than just abruptly changing.

Adding a scene transition like a fade can make your transition from one display to another a far more seamless experience, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. There are plenty of options you can choose from. If you’re crafty enough, you can even create your own unique video transition called a stinger.

Adding scene transitions is definitely recommended to make your stream a more pleasant experience for your viewers, but visuals aren't everything. Coming up with your own unique Twitch channel point ideas is another great way to get your viewers involved in your stream.

How to Add a Scene Transition to Your Stream in OBS

Adding a standard scene transition to your stream in OBS is incredibly simple and will most likely only take you about a minute to complete. Choosing a scene transition that is already built into OBS is by far the easiest method. So if you're new to OBS, you may want to take this route to begin with. You can always update or change it later on if you change your mind.

To add a standard scene transition in OBS, follow the instructions below:

  1. Open your OBS software.
  2. In the middle of the screen between your Preview and Program displays, you will find your Transition options.
  3. Press the + button beside Quick Transitions.
    OBS Quick Transitions
  4. Select your preferred transition from the drop-down list.

Now the display will perform the action you selected whenever you transition to another scene while streaming.

How to Add a Stinger to Your Scene Transition in OBS

Fading between scenes is the easiest and most popular option, but there is another method you could use if you want to add more personality to your transitions. This involves adding a stinger.

A stinger is a short video, usually around two to five seconds long, that provides the transition for your scene. You could have a puff of smoke that goes from one side of the screen to the other or a fire that burns from one scene to the next. The options truly are endless.

To add a stinger as your scene transition, follow the instructions below:

  1. Instead of operating in the Quick Transitions menu like before, scroll down to the Scene Transitions menu that runs along the bottom of the screen. It should be between your Audio Mixer and Sources menu depending on how you have your OBS set up.
  2. Press the + button underneath your current scene transition selection and select Stinger.
OBS Transition Settings to add Transition Add Stinger
  3. Press Browse to find and select your video from your computer's files.
  4. Select Time as your Transition Type.
OBS Transition Settings Properties for Stinger
  5. The Transition Point is the exact time in which your scene will flick to the next one, so your selection will depend on your unique stinger. Preferably you would want to make your Transition Point occur at the moment where the entire screen is covered by your stinger, so your transition will be as seamless as possible.
  6. If your stinger has audio, scroll down and select Monitor and Output from the Audio Monitoring section.
OBS Transition Settings Properties for Stinger Audio Monitoring for Sound
  7. If you want to demo your transition before saving and applying your changes to make sure it is correct, you can do so by pressing Preview Transition.
  8. Press OK to confirm your selections.

Setting up a unique stinger will take a little longer than choosing a pre-made transition like a basic fade, especially when it comes to choosing your Transition Point. But don't be afraid to advantage of the Preview Transition button, so you know your transition is perfect before saving and applying your changes.

Where to Find or Make a Stinger for Your Scene Transition

If you want a unique stinger, but you aren’t creatively inclined, you could purchase one from an artist on a website like Etsy or commission one from an artist you like. If you would like to make your own, you can easily do so on Canva.

Canva is a great tool for streamers, and you use it to create almost anything. Using Canva to create your own custom Twitch overlay is extremely simple, so why not create your own custom stinger to match while you’re at it?

If you’re struggling with ideas when it comes to making either an overlay or a stinger, checking out what the top Twitch streamers are using for their streams could help free you from your creative block.

Take Your Stream to the Next Level With Scene Transitions

OBS is definitely a little overwhelming and intimidating to new streamers. But just like anything else, it's all just a matter of learning. Adding a custom scene transition on OBS isn’t as hard as it seems, and hopefully, this guide has helped you out on your scene transition quest.

Adding a scene transition is just one more way to improve your stream, and it is certainly not the last. So feel free to tinker around with OBS as much as you want, and who knows, you might even discover some of the other unique ways you can personalize your stream.

Travis Kelce chugs beer, spikes Lombardi Trophy in wild scene - New York Post

Travis Kelce let loose over the weekend at his inaugural Kelce Jam music event in the Kansas City area, where the 2023 NFL Draft took place.

The superstar Chiefs tight end, 33, took to the stage Friday in front of a lively crowd and chugged a beer off of the Lombardi Trophy before spiking the hardware to the ground.

The move naturally ignited chatter on social media, as some fans laughed over Kelce’s actions while others expressed outrage.

“Kinda funny,” one fan opined on Instagram.

Another commented, “Isn’t that trophy supposed to mean something.”

Fortunately, the trophy Kelce used was a replica, according to The Kansas City Star.

Kelce has been part of the Chiefs’ past two championship teams, including Kansas City’s Super Bowl win in February over the Philadelphia Eagles.

The eight-time Pro Bowler won his first Super Bowl in 2020 after the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers.

Though Kelce had some fun with the faux Lombardi Trophy, the actual prize infamously took a hit in April 2019, courtesy of a fellow NFL tight end.

When celebrating New England’s sixth Super Bowl victory at Fenway Park, two months after the team defeated the Rams in Super Bowl 2019, former Patriots star Rob Gronkowski used the Lombardi Trophy as a bat to bunt.

The trophy connected off a pitch from former wide receiver Julian Edelman, stunning onlookers in the moment.

“It sounded exactly what you think a baseball hitting the Lombardi Trophy would sound like,” former Patriots offensive lineman Ted Karras said at the time.

Gronkowski, who retired from the NFL in 2019 and returned a year later with the Buccaneers, captured his fourth championship in February 2021 over the Kelce and the Chiefs.
